The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) plans to participate in the construction of the Ajapnyak metro station and the World Trade Center complex in the center of Yerevan, as well as the transport and logistics center in Gyumri, together with the South Caucasus Railway.

“The reconstruction project of the Armenian metro is currently under discussion, and we would like to actively participate in the development of Yerevan’s urban infrastructure. We are also interested in a number of industrial projects”, Nikolai Podguzov, Chair of the EDB Board, told Alpha News.

In turn, Denis Ilyin, EDB Senior Managing Director, noted that next year the bank is considering the project of a transport and logistics center in Gyumri, together with the South Caucasus Railway, and the construction of the Ajapnyak metro station, together with the Yerevan Municipality.

“This is an important project for the city, but serious work is required to prepare documentation, for which we are ready to allocate financial resources. We are discussing this and other projects in health care infrastructure,” he said.

Ilyin highlighted the Renshin Company’s construction project of a large office and hotel complex, the World Trade Center, in the center of Yerevan.

“We are considering a landmark project in our portfolio—the construction of the World Trade Center in Yerevan. This is a megaproject for the city, and our participation is important,” Ilyin said.
