Event to honor Charles Aznavour’s centenary held in Prague

The French Institute in Prague hosted an event to honor the 100th anniversary of legendary French Armenian singer Charles Aznavour on October 1, orer.eu reports. The event was organized by the embassies of Armenia and France in the Czech Republic together with the French Institute.

Armenian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Ashot Hovakimian and French Ambassador Stéphane Crouzat made a welcoming speech, followed by a screening of the documentary ‘Aznavour and His World’ and a concert where popular songs of the great maestro were performed.

The event was attended by the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the Czech Republic, members of the diplomatic corps, representatives of Czech social, political, scientific, and cultural circles, as well as the Armenian community.
