Alpha News spoke with Artsakh-born singer and songwriter Arthur Khachents regarding the Armenian Prime Minister’s statement that the return of Artsakh residents is unrealistic.
“It is no secret whose interests this government serves. Every conscious Armenian must have hope and a goal to return so that every Armenian can live and create in their own home, rather than become a tourist,” Khachents said.
According to him, a just solution is that if you want peace, you must prepare for war.
“Peace is made on one’s own land, not while kneeling before the enemy. No country can be a true guarantor except for the strength of one’s own arm and the ingenuity of one’s own mind,” he said.
Khachents urged Armenians and the world to open their eyes and look at both ancient and modern history. “And you’ll see that the Armenian has always stood alone. As Garegin Nzhdeh once said, ‘The tragedy of the Armenian people is that the Armenian never learned anything from his own history,’” he added.
