Dmitry Stefanovich, the Russian military expert and researcher at the Russian Institute of World Economy and International Relations, commented to Alpha News on the military-technical cooperation between Armenia and France.

“Foreign manufacturers of weaponry and military equipment, in general, are not newcomers in the CIS and CSTO. Something new appears all the time. Of course, the political situation is quite acute now, but, in general, this situation needs to be adapted and taken into account by the Russian industrial complex as well.

That is, how to offer weapons so that they not only win at a price, according to conditions, but can also be effectively integrated into the conditions of the multi-vector nature that many of our allies choose for themselves.

Some negative emotions are obviously possible, but it seems to me that it is necessary to keep a cool head, and, in general, everyone is free to choose their own priorities,” Stefanovich said.

Stefanovich noted that he has no doubt that official Paris will cope with all the contracts in which it participates, and the new Armenian contract will not become unbearable for the French defense department, even considering the arms supplies to Ukraine and a possible major military conflict in the Middle East.

“France, for example, has fairly developed cooperation with India, while India is also cooperating with Russia. That is, they are trying to load their defense industry with contracts. I think, in principle, there are unlikely to be any huge orders that will lead to supply disruptions,” Stefanovich concluded.
