Fifty-two investigators involved in Samvel Karapetyan’s case

A total of 52 investigators have been assigned to the case of businessman and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan, who was arrested in Armenia.

Opposition MP Agnesa Khamoyan said in the National Assembly that the Investigative Committee’s goal is to keep Karapetyan under arrest for as long as possible. She noted that while 52 investigators are involved in his case, the Investigative Committee has only 811 such specialists in total. According to the MP, the investigators’ inaction means only one thing—that Karapetyan must remain under arrest. His case has not yet been referred to court.

However, the head of the Investigative Committee claimed that “tremendous investigative work” has been carried out—around 100 searches were conducted in a single night.
