France hinders Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization, says Azerbaijani MFA spox

France hinders the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia and only escalates the situation, said Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Aykhan Hajizadeh on Wednesday.

“As we have repeatedly noted, the strengthening of the military potential of Armenia, which had occupied a part of the territory of Azerbaijan for about 30 years and currently maintains territorial claims against our country and other neighbors, poses a threat to the establishment of peace and stability in the region. This encourages Armenia to take other destructive actions,” Hajizadeh said.

According to the Azerbaijani official, “Armenia and France should end the policy of militarization in the region and finally understand that there is no other alternative to peace and cooperation.”
