France to open consulate in Goris

On June 2, an Honorary Consulate of France will be inaugurated in Goris in the Syunik region of Armenia. The Honorary Consul will be an Armenian national, Karmen Apunts, who is the director of the Goris Francophone Center, RFE/RL’s Armenian service reports.

Earlier, at a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan in Yerevan, French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noël Barrot announced that a French consular office is planned to open in Goris.
