Franz Klintsevich: Big trouble is coming
Franz Klintsevich, Russian politician and ex-senator of Russia’s Federation Council, commented to Alpha News on the proposal of Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan on mutual arms control with Azerbaijan.
“Pashinyan’s proposal for mutual control is abnormal. It is unlikely that the Azerbaijani side will react to this in any way. Today it is significantly superior in its capabilities with its neighbors and relationships, including with Turkiye. At the same time, it puts Armenia in a position where it discredited and deteriorated relations with Russia. And this is Nikol Pashinyan’s personal fault.
I want it to sound right. This leads to the fact that the state sovereignty and subjectivity of Armenia are under threat. And believe me, as soon as this happens, all the world’s platforms will say that this is Russia’s fault. In order to turn a huge number of Armenians abroad against Russia, saying that it did not support its Armenian brothers. Big trouble is coming because of Nikol Pashinyan’s policies,” Klintsevich said.
In his words, Armenia’s choice of strategic ally is clear and has no alternatives, and advances towards the West can dash Armenia’s hopes.
“The only salvation for Armenia is correct and friendly relations with Russia. Only reliance on Russia can help Armenia survive. He discredits these relations, deteriorates them, and pushes Russia away. Relying on Uncle Sam today in these conditions seems counterproductive. Uncle Sam has already abandoned more than one people. He will abandon Armenia too, believe me,” the ex-senator concluded.
