Franz Klintsevich: Deterioration of Armenian-Russian relations arranged by Armenia gives Azerbaijanis a reason for war

Ex-Senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Franz Klintsevich commented to Alpha News on the Azerbaijani troops concentration near the borders of Armenia and Artsakh.
“I think there will be a new war. The deterioration of relations that Armenia has arranged between Armenia and Russia gives them (Azerbaijanis) a reason for such actions. So far, the concentration of troops on its territory is provocative, which can be justified by various other things, but their intentions have not gone away,” Franz Klintsevich said.
In his opinion, global countries that have their own goals and objectives are behind the events in the region.
“The conflict, which was so difficult to extinguish as a result of constant discontent from both sides, was constantly fuelled. And discrediting our relations with Armenia is a provocative moment that some forces existing both in Turkiye and Azerbaijan can take advantage of. I do not rule out that in the near future we will talk about a serious conflict,” Klintsevich said.
“The games that Armenia is playing with America, with the collective West, trying to have it both ways, will not lead to anything good. For them, neither Russia nor our post-Soviet space has any meaning. But they will, of course, want to “spite” Russia, create some precedents that they can operate with. You’ve made your bed, now lie in it.
I do not support these actions and their consequences, which are carried out by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan,” Klintsevich said.
Answering the question about the possibility of a clash between the Azerbaijani Armed Forces and Russian peacekeepers in the event of an invasion of Artsakh by Azerbaijan, Klintsevich replied:
“There will be a conflict with Russia! The peacekeepers will perform their functions, but it will be difficult for them to do so. I don’t think it will happen in the near future, but the deterioration of these relations, in which Armenia plays a very large negative role, continues. And today they (Azerbaijanis) will definitely take advantage of it.”
