French Defense Minister presents three key points of Armenian-French cooperation

Armenia must be able to defend itself and protect its population, the Minister of the Armed Forces of France, Sébastien Lecornu, said on X, introducing key points of Armenia-France defense cooperation.

“1. Supporting Armenia’s efforts to reform and modernize its military:

‧The opening of the defense mission in January 2023;

‧The mission of a French officer as a military adviser to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia;

‧Numerous working visits and meetings;

2.Training:

‧ Cooperation with officer and non-commissioned officer training institutions;

‧ Training by operational units, particularly in mountain combat and high-precision shooting areas;

3.Strengthening ground-based air defense:

‧Signing of an agreement for the purchase of 3 GM200 radars and a letter of intent on air defense;

‧Signing of a letter of intent on the acquisition of Mistral missile systems;

‧Upcoming audit of the Armenian ground-based air defense system,” the French minister said on X.
