Garnik Danielyan: These villages are being handed to the enemy on a platter
People are now on the road with their children, MP Garnik Danielyan from the “Armenia” faction told Alpha News, providing details of the tense situation in Tavush.
“I am currently in the village of Kirants. There are not only residents of Kirants but also of nearby villages. They are now on the road with their children. MPs from the ‘Armenia’ faction and many people from the regions are also here. They are waiting for the results of the commission meeting because the meeting still goes on. It was a very tense situation here all day because they lied to all of us again, saying that the process has been suspended, and until a commission meeting takes place and we finally understand what is happening, no demining work will be carried out.
But the reality is that today demining work has been periodically carried out in Voskepar; the people protested, and police units arrived there. They are trying to convince people by all means that no serious processes are taking place at the moment, but it is obvious that this is a lie. Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan also came here, and after long talks, we managed to enter the church,” Garnik Danielyan explained.
According to him, the authorities are trying to silence the Tavush residents, using manipulations and threats.
“On the one hand, the authorities say that they are negotiating, but on the other hand, they continue to do their job. In addition, with the help of provocateurs, they are trying to intimidate and threaten people. Villagers try to raise their voices in protest, but are silenced. We are following developments very closely and will not allow the authorities to create an atmosphere of fear with their brutal methods and threats. At the moment, there are hundreds of citizens here who demand to stop the process of surrendering the territories, because if this happens, the village will lose its viability. People will not be able to live here; the village will be given to the Azerbaijanis on a platter,” he noted.
The MP warns that this problem concerns not only Tavush and the Tavush people but also the entire Armenian community.
“This problem concerns not only this village but the entire Republic of Armenia. By carrying out demining, they invite the enemy to our borders. These territories were mined to prevent the penetration of enemy sabotage groups. At one time, all the roads here were mined, and this was of great importance for security. As a result, numerous sabotage attacks, murders, livestock thefts, and much more were prevented here. And today the authorities are opening the northeastern gates of Armenia to the enemy, inviting them to the Tavush region,” Danielyan said.
The MP believes that everything that is happening will put an end to the power of Nikol Pashinyan and adds that everything could end very badly for the authorities.
“By unlawfully destroying the entire front line with manipulations and deceptions, the authorities are trying to mislead people—although almost no such people left—and continue their destructive policy. For the fourth day now, they have been defeated, as the residents of Tavush have kept the interstate road closed for several days. This process will continue, and there will be more and more of us. If the authorities do not meet the demands of these people, it will be worse for them. This will be the end of Nikol Pashinyan’s rule,” Garnik Danielyan concluded.
