Gaspar Karapetyan: It is no longer possible to go a long way with this government

Speaking with Alpha News, EAFJD Chairman Gaspar Karapetyan commented on the new demand of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

Aliyev announced in Khojaly that “Armenia must recognize the Khojaly genocide and apologize.”

“It was expected that Aliyev would say something like that. He has found a common language with the current government of Armenia, which is dangerous. This government will do whatever he wants,” Gaspar Karapetyan said.

Our interlocutor also touched upon Tavush for the Homeland movement. According to Karapetyan, these authorities criticize the movement, but they also achieved success thanks to the march.

“I am not optimistic. It is no longer possible to go a long way with this government. It seems that Nikol Pashinyan will try to keep his power at all costs. All this is very bad for the country. If I were in Pashinyan’s place, I would try to find a solution,” Gaspar Karapetyan said.

He noted that it is difficult to gather a large crowd of people in Republic Square, but Bagrat Srbazan manages to do it.

“The important thing is that there is a movement in the country. Today we have a movement led by Bagrat Srbazan. When today’s prime minister started marching from Gyumri, there were 3 people with him; he reached Yerevan with 4-5 people. Then, conditions were created for big rallies to begin. Now these same people do not understand the seriousness of the country’s situation,” he said.
