On January 27 and 28, demonstrations will be held in more than 50 European cities. Gaspar Karapetyan, Head of the ARF Armenian National Committee of Europe, responded to questions about this to Alpha News.

“On January 27, the rallies will start in different cities. Not all rallies will be the same. Those organized previously on October 1 took place in 24 cities on the same day, and the 25th was organized in Granada on October 5. This time, we decided that the rallies will be held in bigger cities. Locals will decide how to organize them. For example, there will be gatherings in front of Armenian memorials in one city, and there will be events in churches after liturgies in the presence of the political elite and people in another city. The events will probably be held in cultural centers as well. As of now, on January 27, there will be rallies in 50 cities. It is not final; this number will increase,” Karapetyan told Alpha News.

Karapetyan noted that the Armenian community of Tbilisi also joined the rallies.

“The rallies will continue on Sunday, January 28. We will make a statement for the press, announce why we are doing all this, and present our main demands. The main demands are as follows: the return of the Armenian captives and the abducted former leadership of Artsakh to Yerevan, the protection of the rights of the people of Artsakh, their return to their ancestral lands with international guarantees and the status that the people of Artsakh will decide. In addition, we need to guarantee the sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia, put an end to the threats of Azerbaijan, and remove Azerbaijanis from the territory of the Republic of Armenia,” Gaspar Karapetyan said.
