Gata festival held in the courtyard of Surb Khach Church in Akhalkalak

On March 26, the Armenian Gata Festival was held in the courtyard of Surb Khach (The Holy Cross) Church in Akhalkalak on the Median Day of Lent (Mijink), jnews. ge reports.

About 50 varieties of gata, prepared by representatives from various institutions, were showcased at the festival.

It should be noted that Lent started on March 3. The period of Lent lasts 48 days, starting from the holiday of Bun Barekendan (Shrovetide) and culminating on Easter.
