People living in the Diaspora do not fully understand the reality that exists in our homeland today or existed a few years ago, actress Gayane Aslamazyan told Alpha News.

“People living in the Diaspora are mostly those who moved 30 or 50 years ago, and naturally, they do not fully understand the reality that exists in our homeland today or that existed a few years ago. Their source of information is the Public Television Company or TV companies, that have been operating in the USA for a long time. And they are affiliated with the current government, and the prevailing information field belongs to the pro-Nikol masses,” Aslamazyan said.

According to her, unfortunately, when searching for any Armenia-related topic, the first thing that comes up is the Azerbaijani news and their “truth”.

“In terms of information, we are not only weak in the Diaspora. We also lost in the global Internet information field in general. When you try to find any Armenia-related topic on the Internet, the first thing that comes up is the Azerbaijani news and the ‘truth’ provided by them.

We all need to unite, regardless of our location. We need to do a lot of work with our scientists, historians, and art historians to be able to present our real history to the world. We have focused so much on the events in Armenia that we are overlooking all this,” she concluded.
