A young man from Russia told Alpha News that he was shocked when he learned about the horrific events of the 1915 Genocide in the Ottoman Empire.
“Today I visited the Genocide Memorial and was profoundly moved. It truly touched my soul, so I decided to come here today, see and empathize with Armenia’s grief. This is our first time in Armenia, we really liked this country. It has very beautiful nature, amazing traditions and history. I really liked Armenia. Today I read that Turkey attacked Armenians, humiliated them in every possible way, carried out very cruel massacres. Of course, this left a deep mark on the people. In my opinion, no matter what happened in the past, it must be acknowledged, and efforts should be made to atone for those wrongs,” said a participant of the torchlight procession.
