A gentleman’s agreement on the status of Nagorno-Karabakh was reached in the 2020 trilateral document, but the statement made in Prague has nullified everything, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said during a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan.

According to him, the Prague statement—where Armenia and Azerbaijan mutually agreed that the issue would be resolved under the Alma-Ata Declaration, recognizing Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan—was quite unexpected.
