Georgian national team’s victory is result of deep and comprehensive work – Robert Gasparyan

Live on Alpha News, sports commentator Robert Gasparyan spoke about the historic victory of the Georgian football team over Portugal.

“Let’s first dismiss the idea that the Georgian national team won by chance. This is the result of the deep and comprehensive work that the Georgian Football Federation has achieved over the past 10 years. The president of the Georgian Football Federation is Levan Kobiashvili, who played in Europe for many years and retired in 2014, after which he was appointed president of the Georgian Football Federation in October 2015,” Gasparyan said, noting that Kobiashvili was the footballer who played the most matches for the French national team.

A sports commentator attaches great importance to the football mindset, which is already half the battle.

“The extent to which the Football Federation president has a football mindset is the extent to which the development of football in this country can be boosted. Our Football Federation does not have such a mindset because the current president is a journalist by profession. Being a sports commentator is one thing, but being a football player is quite another. For example, Levan Kobiashvili has gone through all the schools of Georgian football and is now doing his job excellently,” Robert Gasparyan concluded.
