The political behavior of the Armenian authorities has significantly complicated our work, Gevorg Ghukasyan, Special Project Manager at the Armenian National Committee-International, told Alpha News.
“The Armenian National Committee is an international multi-branch structure with a history of about 80 years. During those years, there were a lot of people fighting against the committee and the international network of branches in general. We are not alien to the fight against the ideas of the Armenian National Committee. We cannot stop the struggle, taking into account the political position of the Armenian authorities. The position and political behavior of the authorities have significantly complicated the work of the Armenian National Committee,” Gevorg Ghukasyan stressed.
According to him, regardless of the position of the current authorities of Armenia, the Armenian National Committee continues its work.
“The Armenian National Committee in every country and region has specified political priorities, which it sets, regardless of the position of the Armenian authorities. During the last decades of its activity, the Armenian National Committee has worked on three main directions. The first was, obviously, the protection of the interests of the Republic of Artsakh. The second was the recognition of the Genocide, which was a tool to prevent further genocidal acts of Turkiye. The third was the provision of foreign aid to the Republic of Armenia. All these priorities are still relevant; just after the disastrous 44-day war, we are making tactical revisions and trying to adapt our priorities to the situation we have now,” Gevorg Ghukasyan said.
