Government approves procedure for issuing temporary protection certificates to refugees from Artsakh

The description of identity documents of forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh taken under temporary protection, as well as the procedure for its issuance were approved by the Armenian Government’s Decree No. 1864-N of October 26, 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
In accordance with the accepted procedure, the identity documents of a refugee who received temporary protection include a passport and a temporary protection (refugee) certificate. Starting January 28, 2024, these two documents will be considered valid when leaving and entering the Republic of Armenia only if they are presented together.
A temporary protection (refugee) certificate is issued upon application.
As of January 16, the number of applications received is 36,200, the number of certificates printed is 35,800, the number of certificates issued to applicants is 28,490.
At the same time, it is reported that the upcoming Saturday, January 20, will be a working day in passport offices, with the forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh being able to submit their applications.
