Tavush Governor Hayk Ghalumyan asked the villagers to give consent to the construction of a new road, noting that he is ready to immediately send tractors, Karen Ghazaryan, a resident of Kirants village, told NEWS.am.
“He said: Let’s build a road to hand over what we have to hand over. The people did not agree. Only 3–4 people agreed. They said: Only if it can prevent war,” Ghazaryan noted, adding that 10–12 villagers attended the closed meeting with the governor.
According to him, the Kirants residents temporarily opened the road and went to the village administration to talk to Ghalumyan after the meeting. However, the latter left immediately without answering the questions of the residents who could not attend the meeting.
According to Ghazaryan, the villagers are not going to open the interstate road yet.
