Guilty verdict issued against Armen Grigoryan, says lawyer

A guilty verdict has been issued against the late producer Armen Grigoryan, lawyer Ruben Melikyan reported.

“The late Armen Grigoryan has been convicted. The verdict will definitely be appealed,” the lawyer said.

On July 15, 2022, Armen Grigoryan passed away during a court hearing in the Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan. He has been imprisoned since May 17. Grigoryan’s lawyer regularly reported the deterioration of his health and filed an appeal, but Judge Arusyak Aleksanyan extended his detention for unknown reasons.

Grigoryan was charged with “public humiliation of national dignity.”

Grigoryan was engaged in social activities. He was known as a member of the first KVN team in Armenia, the Yerevan Medical Institute, a two-time champion of the club in 1992 and 1994.
