The first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, moderated by ABC News, took place in the United States recently. Alpha News commentator Arthur Sahakyan presented his observations on the topic.

“Everyone has been waiting for the first debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump lately to understand who has a better chance to run for president of the country. We also followed the debate and selected several topics that ABC highlighted. The most important topic is migration policy. As you know, according to various estimates, 15–25 million illegal migrants arrived in the United States under Biden-Harris, and the number of crimes in the country has increased significantly. Trump emphasized this point, saying that, for example, Venezuela sends its criminals to the United States and threatens them not to return, because in this case they may simply be killed. In all countries, the number of criminal offenders is decreasing, while in the United States it is growing. They also talked about the wars in Ukraine and Gaza,” Sahakyan noted.

Speaking about Kamala Harris’s answers and position, he stressed that the politician did not give specific answers even to questions related to the years of their rule.

“These questions related to the economy, wars, and migration policy, and we note that it was Kamala Harris who was responsible for border security, and it was she who had to answer all these questions. These questions were voiced by the ABC channel, but she seemed to have prepared in advance to attack and said the following: ‘I would love to respond, but let’s talk about what Donald Trump left us,’ and all of her attacks were aimed at Trump.

It should be noted that there was definitely bias on the part of the TV company, one can even say that there was a preliminary agreement. And if a fact-checking platform was used for Trump, then the same was not done in the case of Harris, although she presented false facts about Trump several times,” the Alpha News commentator concluded.
