Alexander Bordov, the head of the Russian community of Artsakh, was reportedly arrested on the Hakari Bridge.
It was not possible to contact him for two days.
Eyewitnesses from among those leaving claimed that Bordov had been arrested while driving through the checkpoint on the Hakari Bridge.
Alexander Bordov took an active part in the construction of the first Russian Orthodox church on the Karabakh land, for which he was awarded the Gratitude of the commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces Rustam Muradov. He also made a significant contribution to the revival of Orthodoxy and strengthening of the Russian community, and founded the first Russian drama theater in the history of Artsakh, performances of which were always sold out.
A few days ago, Kirill Kulakov, commander of the Russian peacekeeping forces in Artsakh, gave Bordov a holy icon of Mother of God of Kazan as a gift for the Orthodox community.
Bordov helped to evacuate more than 400 families from Artsakh.
