Henrikh Mkhitaryan, former captain of Armenia’s national football team and current Inter Milan midfielder, has been sidelined with a muscle injury and is expected to be out of action for approximately a month.

According to the official website of the Milan club, the 36-year-old Armenian football player underwent a medical examination at the Humanitas Institute in Rozzano, where he was diagnosed with a muscle injury to the semitendinosus muscle in his left thigh. His condition will be reassessed next week, but the estimated recovery time is around four weeks.

Mkhitaryan sustained the injury during Matchday 8 of Serie A against Napoli, which ended in a 1–3 defeat for the Nerazzurri. The absence of the experienced midfielder is a blow for Cristian Chivu amid a busy schedule in Serie A and the Champions League. Preliminary reports suggest Mkhitaryan will miss Serie A matches against Fiorentina, Verona, Lazio, and Milan, as well as Champions League games against Kairat and Atlético Madrid. His return is expected by the end of November, tentatively for the match against Pisa on November 30, provided his recovery proceeds without complications.
