Alpha HISTORY: Agrippina Vaganova – founder of the Soviet and Russian ballet

Alpha HISTORY is the next exclusive project of the new season of Alpha News.

It is an animated series of historical portraits, where the life of famous Armenians who turned the course of history is presented in brief and informative stories.

Agrippina Vaganova was one of them. She was a ballerina, choreographer, and teacher, in honor of whom the Russian Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg was renamed.

Vaganova’s pedagogical system was the foundation of Soviet and Russian dance art, and her manual “Fundamentals of the Classic Dance” became indispensable for Russian ballet.
