Hovhannes Abgaryan from Voronezh wins international sambo tournament

The international sambo competition, the first stage of the Grand Prix series, in which almost 60 athletes from Russia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan participated, concluded in Krasnodar, Russia. An athlete from the city of Voronezh, Hovhannes Abgaryan, became the winner in the 79 kg category.

This year Abgaryan became the champion of Russia for the first time. The athlete was qualified to represent Russia at the World Championship in Astana, Kazakhstan, in November. Not so long ago, the sambo wrestler won the gold medal at the World Championship in Kyrgyzstan. Hovhannes fought three fights and confidently succeeded in all of them.
