Hrag Terteryan: Fundraising continued after the ambassador left

In an interview with Alpha News, the Chair of the Artsakh Commission in Toronto, Hrag Terteryan, touched upon yesterday’s scandal when local Armenian youth did not allow the Armenian Ambassador to enter the center and make a donation.

“Parents and relatives of most of these young people made their donation. It was these young people who spared no effort and organized various fundraisers for our compatriots,” Terteryan said.

According to him, everyone else except the ambassador had free access to the Armenian Center.

“We did not prevent anyone from making donations, except the ambassador. But then some people wanted to take the donated money, saying that they did not want to give it away if the ambassador did not come. But the money was donated not to the ambassador but to the Armenians of Artsakh. Fundraising continued after the ambassador left. All proceeds will be directed to the people of Artsakh,” Terteryan said.
