Armenia must accept the hand of peace extended by Azerbaijan as soon as possible, Chair of the Turkish Defense Committee Hulusi Akar said at a meeting with the Azerbaijani president.

“Armenia must accept the hand of peace extended by Azerbaijan as soon as possible, and peace and stability must come to the region as quickly as possible. Yerevan should know that any initiative in any form will not bring benefit to it, the region and will not make life easier for people because, for some reason, some countries want to turn Armenia into a ‘proxy state’,” the Turkish official said.

According to him, if Armenia “takes this wrong path, it will suffer serious losses, as happened in the case of the 44-day war.”

“This cannot be allowed,” Akar added.
