I am in favor of anathema around certain events – Father Ruben Zargaryan

There are some circles that speculate that the church should preach love but it talks about damnation and anathema, Father Ruben Zargaryan told Alpha News.

“I am in favor of anathema around certain events, some of which were voiced on the evening of April 23 by Archbishop Arshak Khachatryan, Chancellor of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. It was a very well prepared text, especially the passage of the curse, and in my opinion, with a little addition, it can be made official. There are circles that speculate on the fact that the church should preach love but it talks about damnation and anathema. But they simply do not know that in the New Testament, we are faced with many curses from the Holy Apostles.

I will say more: when clergy are ordained, the day before they kneel before the altar, and then reject and condemn those movements and those authors who disseminate doctrines and hold views that go beyond the boundaries of Orthodoxy, especially sectarians. At the same time, they profess and accept the teaching that the Holy Fathers developed throughout the history of the Church and follow the precepts of these very fathers,” Father Ruben Zargaryan said.
