I asked to freeze my 30-year spiritual ministry – Bagrat Srbazan

Archbishop Bagrat Srbazan announced at a rally in Republic Square that he has decided to freeze his spiritual ministry.

“Taking into account the expectation of wide circles regarding my nomination for the post of prime minister, as a result of discussions with His Holiness and with my spiritual brothers, we thought that I cannot combine the task of being a nominee for prime minister with my spiritual position. 

That is why, presenting the situation to the Supreme Patriarch and my spiritual brothers, I asked to freeze my 30-year spiritual ministry and to assume and bear personal responsibility for this whole process. This is a personal decision, taking into account all the sacrifice I am ready to put on the altar of my sacred Homeland, my state,” he said.
