‘I hope we can achieve de-escalation’: Putin and Chinese Foreign Minister discuss situation in Artsakh

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the situation in Artsakh at a meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, the Kremlin website reported.

“I will inform you about the Azerbaijan-Karabakh and Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict resolution. Our peacekeepers are very actively working with all parties involved in the conflict, doing everything to protect civilians.

There are already over two thousand civilians in our main base, including more than a thousand children. We are in very close contact with all parties to the conflict – with the authorities in Yerevan, Stepanakert, and Baku,” Putin said, expressing hope that it will be possible to achieve “de-escalation and peaceful resolution of this problem.”
