Removing the image of Mount Ararat from passports is an anti-Armenian act, Anahit Asatryan, Deputy Director of the Union of Armenian Associations in Sweden, said in an interview with Alpha News.

“Removing the image could negatively affect the mindset of our Armenian people, especially those living in Armenia. Naturally, I do not consider it right, and I oppose the idea of avoiding references to our territories in films or theater productions. I hope that our theater professionals, actors, and directors will take the opposite approach. They must show that our youth, our generations, do not forget about our nation, our country, and our history,” Asatryan emphasized.

Speaking about the connection between the Diaspora and Armenia, she added, “There has always been active cooperation between the Armenian community in Sweden and Armenia. Unfortunately, we have not seen much of that recently. We are only able to send letters to express our opinions and dissatisfaction with certain decisions, but we never receive any response.”
