Saro Shirinian, AYF member, spoke to Alpha News about the functions of the organization, its struggle and importance of not forgetting your homeland.

“Our duty as those responsible for the youth is that we always fight those who act against our nation, be it Turkey, Azerbaijan or even the Armenian government,” he said.

According to Shirinian, their main function is to protect the Armenian nation.

“Our duty is to protect the nation. We believe that together we will be able to make the Diaspora answer some questions. Our doors are always open. We gather every few years, meet to discuss our activities, the situation in Armenia and decide how we can be useful,” Shirinian said.

He wishes Armenians who left the country would not forget their homeland.

“I want those who came to the United States not to forget their homeland, Armenia. Especially those who have recently arrived can contribute much more to the connection between America and Armenia because they have ‘one foot there and the other here,’” Shirinian concluded.
