If Kamala Harris is elected, there will be no drastic changes, international affairs expert Andranik Hovhannisyan told Alpha News.

“The United States remains one of the most powerful states. The events taking place in the US cannot but affect the world, especially the various regions in which the US has its interests.

If we take the political positions of both candidates, we can note that if Harris is elected, tensions with Russia will continue to deepen. The European Union, for example, will be forced to obey US policy and maintain rather heated relations with Russia. In parallel, the policy that the United States is pursuing in the Middle East today will continue; that is, it will support Israel and continue to pursue the same policy towards Iran; the same will happen with regard to China. This means there will be no drastic changes if Harris is elected,” Andranik Hovhannisyan said.

According to him, if Trump is elected, China will be seen as a deterrent for the United States.

“It is known that Trump can make certain changes in US foreign policy, especially in US-Chinese relations. Republicans have always viewed China as a superpower, which is their main deterrent in strengthening their geopolitical positions. They will try to focus their policy on China.

In fact, the main target for the United States will be China as an economic opponent. With regard to Iran, it is obvious that the United States has disagreements. They will try to help Israel in this matter. When it comes to our region, there is a rather interesting situation, especially in the case of Georgia, after the recent elections. The opposition in Georgia is actually waiting for a reaction from Washington and Brussels. It turns out that the opposition in Georgia is not independent,” Andranik Hovhannisyan said.
