If we don’t take part in the elections, others will decide our future: Astine Suleymanian

Astine Suleymanian, board member of the Western Office of ARFD, spoke on Alpha News about the true motives behind the propaganda campaign targeting the Armenian community. According to her, the recently circulated terms “Armenian mafia” and “medical fraud” have no legal basis and are being used purely for political ends. She stressed that this is a deliberately crafted narrative driven by figures serving Turkish-Azerbaijani interests.
Addressing the actions of Dr. Mehmet Oz, Suleymanian emphasized that the campaign’s goal is to convince American voters that Armenians are responsible for cuts to healthcare programs.
She argued that such accusations are entirely without factual basis and are directed against law-abiding Armenian entrepreneurs who built their businesses from the ground up.
Turning to the upcoming California elections, Suleymanian underscored the power of the Armenian vote.
“If you have grievances, make sure you participate, because otherwise, others will decide our future,” she said.
Suleymanian also expressed concern that in cities like Glendale, a large number of Armenian candidates is weakening the community’s overall standing: votes are being split, and the result is that others end up winning.
