Impossible to talk about long-term peace if the return of Armenian prisoners is not resolved – Sacred Struggle

The Sacred Struggle made a statement about the agenda of Artsakh Armenians’ return to their homeland and a real, stable, and long-term peace formula.

“Agenda of Artsakh Armenians’ return to their homeland: the page of the Artsakh conflict is not closed yet. Armenia should ensure that the Artsakh issue is included in the negotiation agenda, that talks continue, and Artsakh Armenians’ rights (both individual and collective), including, first of all, the right to dignified return with security guarantees, are restored.

A real, stable, and long-term peace formula: Azerbaijan’s concept of ‘achieving peace at all costs’ cannot be accepted and implemented. The normalization should be based on the principles of justice and international law and cannot be achieved at the expense of the dignity of any party. The process of the normalization of relations should equally take into account the interests of both sides. It is impossible to talk about real, stable, and long-term peace if vital humanitarian issues are not resolved, such as the return of POWs, detainees, and military and political leadership of Artsakh taken hostage,” the movement said in a statement.
