Iran and Armenia ready to enhance transit cargo transportation – Armenian FM

Armenia and Iran have discussed the construction of a second bridge over the Araks River to facilitate cargo transportation, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said at a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan.

According to Mirzoyan, the trade turnover between the two countries reached record highs in 2024, with plans to increase it to $3 billion annually in the future.

Iran is actively involved in Armenia’s strategic projects. Iranian companies are building a 32-kilometer section of the Kajaran-Agarak highway, while Iran’s total investment in Armenian projects stands at $460 million.
