While Iran insists that “everything is fine, everything is normal,” statements from the United States suggest that problems remain relevant, political analyst Robert Margaryan told Alpha News, commenting on negotiations between the US and Iran.

According to the analyst, the statements from both sides are rather contradictory.

“Right now, Iran has promised to present new proposals within the next two weeks, but I don’t believe they will satisfy all US demands. After all, the conditions that Donald Trump set for Iran may be red lines for it, and crossing them would be extremely difficult. One could say that at this stage Iran is simply trying to buy time. Even one week can change a lot in the current situation,” Margaryan said.

He added that US military equipment deployed on Iran’s borders serves a specific purpose and will not leave the region until that purpose is achieved.

“Whether this will turn into a full-scale war or into coercion of Iran into concessions is still not entirely clear,” Margaryan concluded.
