Iran has sent humanitarian aid to Armenia for the residents of the Lori region affected by floods.
The humanitarian aid will be delivered to Alaverdi on June 7 by the staff of the Iranian Red Crescent Society and the Armenian Red Cross Society, Armenpress reports.
In this regard, Iranian Deputy Ambassador to Armenia Bahram Taheri, political adviser Mohammad Javad Alavi, representatives of the Iranian Red Crescent, and President of the Armenian Red Cross Society David Nersesyan held a meeting.
Nersesyan first of all expressed condolences on the death of the Iranian President and the officials accompanying him in a helicopter crash, shortly after which a terrible flood hit Armenia’s Lori region.
He considered it symbolic that it was the Iranian Red Crescent that was one of the first to react to the deadly natural disaster in Armenia, expressing readiness to provide assistance to those affected.
The humanitarian aid from Iran contains canned food, tent covers, bedding sets, dishes, and sanitary supplies, among others.
