Iran supports 3+3 format of South Caucasus talks

Speaker of Iran’s Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has said that Tehran fully supports the 3+3 platform that will promote peace and stability in the South Caucasus, RIA Novosti reports.

On Thursday, Azerbaijan’s Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova met with her Iranian counterpart Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who is on a visit to Baku.

“The parties discussed new opportunities and prospects available today in the South Caucasus region. In this regard, Ghalibaf reiterated Iran’s full support for the 3+3 platform. He expressed confidence that this format will contribute to peace and stability in the region, as well as the development of political and economic cooperation. It was noted that involvement of external countries in the affairs of the region is unacceptable,” the press office of the Azerbaijani Parliament informed RIA Novosti.
