Iran supports strengthening of Armenia, Ambassador Mehdi Sobhani says

We support the strengthening of Armenia, Iran’s Ambassador to Armenia Mehdi Sobhani said on Tuesday when asked about Iran’s role as a transit country in the transportation of Indian weapons to Armenia.

He noted that the balance of forces will contribute to peace and security in the region.

“We are ready to provide assistance to Armenia, which will contribute to peace and stability in the region,” Ambassador Sobhani said.

When asked whether Iran wants to have a military presence in Armenia in return for this transit role, Sobhani stated that he prefers not to respond to such rumors.
