Iranian Armenian MP: Iran should not remain indifferent
All representatives of the Armenian community in Iran are seriously following the situation in Artsakh and express their deep concern for the people of Artsakh, Robert Beglarian, Iranian MP of Armenian descent, said in an interview with Alpha News.
“Previously, we hold protests inside the community. My colleagues and I have tried to explain the situation in Artsakh to state bodies.
Today, I talked to the Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran and expressed deep concerns. I pointed out that Iran should not remain indifferent because later it will affect Armenia-Iran-Azerbaijan relations. And we cannot imagine what problems it will bring to the region; thus, Iran should demonstrate its position and be alert,” Beglarian said.
He also emphasized that the people of Artsakh feel what they felt during the Genocide.
“At the moment, Armenians of Artsakh live and feel what they felt during the Genocide. They have always tried to be united and to show their courage to the world. The diaspora is obliged to unite and work purposefully, using levers of the international community. We also should try to influence the international opinion. It is true that I am not satisfied with our works as politicians, however we are not indifferent and we are trying to help. Stay strong,” Beglarian concluded.
