Speaking with Alpha News, Vladimir Kireyev, head of the analytical department of the International Eurasian Movement, commented on Iran’s position regarding the agreements between Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States.

“The established relationship between Yerevan and Washington implies a physical American presence in Armenia for operational activities—not only to ensure transport security and the corridor between Nakhichevan and mainland Azerbaijan. This is about exerting pressure on Iran, which interests Americans the most. At present, Turkey, Israel, and Azerbaijan are all unfriendly states toward Iran. Azerbaijan acts as a proxy for both Turkey and Israel. Israel and Turkey are Iran’s competitors and direct adversaries. Therefore, the Iranian president’s visit to Armenia is intended to clarify these issues regarding Iran’s concerns and security,” the expert noted.

According to Kireyev, the Iranian president is posing questions to the Armenian leadership and is not satisfied with the responses he receives.

“The Iranian president is asking questions, and apparently, he is dissatisfied with the responses he receives. These are well-founded suspicions, given the historically antagonistic nature of relations between the US, Turkey, Israel, and Iran. It is entirely reasonable to assume that Armenia could become another proxy for Washington, Ankara, and Tel Aviv in efforts to pose a threat to Iran,” Kireyev said.
