The Iranian government has approved the signing of the bill on the creation of a free trade zone between the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Iranian spokesperson Ali Bahadori Jahromi told TASS.

“The Cabinet has approved the signing of the draft bill on a free trade agreement between the EAEU countries and Iran,” Fars News Agency quotes Jahromi as saying. The official called “free economic and trade interaction” one of the goals of the agreement.

As Jahromi noted, the document has been submitted to the parliament of Iran. The agreement should be adopted by the parliament and then approved by the Guardian Council, a body that reviews the laws passed by the MPs to determine their constitutionality.
