For the third consecutive year, the governor of Istanbul has banned a remembrance event for the victims of the Armenian Genocide.
As Armenian Agos newspaper reports, the organizers of the Armenian Genocide remembrance event expressed their discontent with the governor’s decision and called for its reconsideration.
The organizers emphasized that remembrance events were held annually from 2010 to 2019, but after the COVID-related restrictions were imposed, the event was not held for the third consecutive year.
