‘I’ve always done everything to give 100%’: Henrikh Mkhitaryan speaks on upcoming game with FC Salzburg

On the eve of Inter’s Champions League clash at home to FC Salzburg, former captain of the Armenian national football team, Inter midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, alongside Head Coach Simone Inzaghi, answered questions from journalists in the game’s pre-match press conference, Inter’s official website reported.

Mkhitaryan stressed that every game is equally important to the team.

“Nothing changes when you play in the Champions League, every game is really important for us. We realise we didn’t start off in the best possible way against Real Sociedad, but did very well against Benfica, so we want to keep our run going.

When speaking with the Head Coach before joining, I told him I’d come to help out the team and give everything to play, but that he made the selection decisions. I’ve always done everything to try and play and given 100%. I’ve never been a defensive-minded player, but in the midfield role I play I must try and help out the team in both sides of the game,” Mkhitaryan said.

After two games, Inter takes second place with four points in Group D with Real Sociedad (4), FC Salzburg (3), Benfica (0).
