Jailed Karapetyan is securing victories in international and Armenian courts – Simon Karapetyan

Over the past years, Pashinyan has been more pro-Azerbaijani than anyone else—even Aliyev himself, Simon Karapetyan, Vice-President of the Treasures of Armenia Association, said in an interview with Alpha News.

“Armenia is being led toward Turkification and Azerbaijanization, and there’s no doubt about it. Over the past 2–3 years, Nikol Pashinyan has been more pro-Azerbaijani than anyone else on this planet. In many cases, even Aliyev was surprised by Pashinyan’s decisions. In this regard, it is impossible to deny that we are being led toward Azerbaijanization and the erasure of Armenian values. And today, the Church is the only force preserving our country, but Pashinyan is working to dismantle that institution as well,” Karapetyan noted.

According to him, people in the diaspora are aware that what’s happening in Armenia has nothing to do with the Armenian nation itself.

“Those of us living in the diaspora feel ashamed of what is happening in Armenia. But, thank God, the people around me understand that this is all just politics, and everything happening now has nothing to do with the Armenian people, history, or culture. It’s reassuring that among thoughtful individuals, Nikol Pashinyan is seen as a person—not as the state,” Karapetyan concluded.
