Jivani Day celebrated in Georgia’s village of Kartsakh

The village of Kartsakh in Akhalkalaki municipality of Georgia traditionally celebrated the annual holiday “Jivani Day” on June 30, honoring the famous Armenian poet of the 19th and early 20th centuries, musician and ashugh Jivani, jnews. ge reports.

The event was attended by representatives of the Armenian Embassy in Georgia, Vice-Governor of Samtskhe-Javakheti David Vardiashvili, representatives of the Support to Javakheti Foundation Sos Sahakyan, Samvel Mkoyan, and others, as well as guests from Armenia and regular participants of the event Tovmas Poghosyan with his ensemble.

By tradition, the attendees laid flowers at the monument to Ashugh Jivani in the center of the village. Then the guests and locals visited Ashugh’s house museum. The celebration ended with a concert.

The concert featured performances by the Javakhk Dance Ensemble, pupils of the Ashugh School of Akhalkalaki, Tovmas Poghosyan and his ensemble, singer Mavr Mkrtchyan, and others.
