American singer of Armenian descent Karina Pasian made history by singing the US national anthem at the first-ever National Football League (NFL) game held in Spain.

The performance took place at the legendary Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid before more than 78,000 spectators gathered to watch the match between the Miami Dolphins and the Washington Commanders—an event already being hailed as “the game of the century.”

Karina Pasian is a singer, songwriter, and pianist of Armenian and Dominican heritage. At just 13 years old, three major record labels competed to sign her. In 2007, she performed at the White House for President George W. Bush, in celebration of Black Music Month.
